~Dress Code~
Studio West Dance Academy's dress code is designed to encourage unity and discipline among students. The dress code also serves to further distinguish the school's reputation as a professional ballet academy dedicated to the development and training of dancers.
~Ballet~
Ballet LEVEL : CLASS COLOR LEOTARD
Baby Ballet Black or White (skirt optional)
Discover Dance Light pink
Pre-Ballet Lavender
Ballet I Light blue
Ballet II Royal blue
Ballet III Red
Ballet IV Hunter green
Ballet V Black or navy
Shoes: Pink leather ballet shoes, bare feet or socks are acceptable in Baby Ballet. Pink leather ballet slippers are required for Discover Dance-Level II. Level III-V have the option to wear leather or canvas shoes.
Tights: Pink footed tights are required for Baby Ballet through Level V (please avoid spandex or shiny tights). Tights are optional for Baby Ballet, Discover Dance and Pre-ballet during summer program.
Skirts:Short skirts are allowed for Baby Ballet, Level V technique, and all pointe classes.
Hair: Hair must be neatly pulled back in a pony for Baby Ballet, Discover Dance & Pre-ballet. Ballet I - V hair must be in a bun.
~Enhancement Classes~
Jazz & Tap classes require black jazz pants or tights and a leotard and/or a fitted tank or t-shirt (no mid-drift). Tan shoes are required for jazz and black shoes are required for tap. Hair must be pulled back in a pony or another up do. For Hip Hop "studio only" tennis shoes, dance sneakers or jazz shoes are required. Leotard, jazz pants or other comfortable, loose fitting clothing is recommended.
Jewelry (for all classes): Please keep jewelry to a minimum: no watches, bracelets, necklaces or large earrings are to be worn for safety reasons. Small earrings are acceptable.
